[ARCHIVED] Summer Events are Here!

Summer Movie in the Park

The Parks and Recreation Department would like to invite community members down to Orinda Community Park, at 28 Orinda Way, for FREE summer entertainment.

Summer Concerts in the Park, which are sponsored by the Orinda Parks and Recreation Foundation and supported by the Orinda Community Foundation, Rotary Club of Orinda and City of Orinda, are held on Thursday evenings from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. All concerts will be accompanied by Taste of the World Market food trucks again this year. To learn more or see a truck lineup for each evening, visit Taste of the World Market.

Back again for another season, Movies in the Park offers the community a wonderful mix of animated films and a live remake of a Disney classic.  These films were selected by the community via an online survey to be the line-up of this year’s series. Movies are held on select Friday evenings in the Orinda Community Center Park and begin at dusk (approximately 8-8:30pm). Movies are presented by Orinda Parks and Recreation Foundation with support from the Orinda Community Foundation and City of Orinda. To learn more visit

In August, join one of our new, incoming Contract Instructors for Fall, Valorie Moore with Family Yoga in the Park on Saturday, August 19 from 9:30am-10:30am. This family yoga session is filled with fun songs, yoga games, and poses that boost creativity and encourage self-regulation skills while connecting with parents and caregivers. This is free, however we are asking interested individuals to reserve their spot by registering through our online catalog. To reserve your spot and any additional family members, click here. All ages are welcome!

On Saturday, August 19 from 10:00am to 12:30pm, join another one of our new, incoming Contract Instructors for Fall, Tompkins Tennis, for a complimentary morning of tennis, food and fun with their Orinda Tennis Fall Kickoff. This event is for all levels, and for children 7 years of age to adult. While this event is free, you do need to reserve your spot through BOUNX.

Share your pictures with us on Facebook @OrindaParksRec . All community members are welcome. The Parks and Recreation Department hopes to see you there.
